Dear reporters,
The 2022 World Cities Day Global Observance and the Second Global Conference on Sustainable Urban Development will be held in Shanghai at the end of the month. At 1:30 pm on October 24 (Monday), we will organize an interview tour for Chinese and foreign reporters, focusing on the governance of Suzhou Creek through three dimensions: clean water, beautiful waterfront and tourist friendliness, in a bid to tell the stories of Shanghai and its urban governance experience via multiple platforms and multiple forms.
The interview tour includes three sections: a briefing/interview, a visit to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall (“One River and One Creek” exhibition hall), and a visit to the waterfront of the Suzhou Creek. During the briefing/interview section, senior officials from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development (the Shanghai Municipal “One River and One Creek” Office), Shanghai Water Authority, and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism will introduce the development of the waterfront along the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek from the previous industrial rust belt to a beautiful life show belt, and answer questions from reporters (specific arrangements are attached).

(3) Interview agenda
1. Themed briefings. The briefings focus on the development of the waterfront along the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek from the previous industrial rust belt to a beautiful life show belt. Officials from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development, Shanghai Water Authority, and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism will each give an 8-minute briefing on the construction of waterfront public space, water environment management, and the improvement of tourism and leisure functions, respectively.
2. Q&As. Officials from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development, Shanghai Water Authority, and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism will answer questions from reporters.
II. Visit to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall
(1) Time: 2:30-2:40 pm
(2) Venue: “One River and One Creek” exhibition area on the second floor of Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall
III. The shooting session along Suzhou Creek
Itinerary: Changhua Road Pier - Waitanyuan - Sihang Warehouse Pier
1. At 2:50, reporters will take a shuttle bus from the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, and relevant staff also take the bus. It takes about 15 minutes.
2. At 3:05, we will arrive at Tianan Sunshine Plaza (Moganshan Road near Changhua Road), then walk to Changhua Road Pier, and take a cruise on the Suzhou Creek. It takes 30 minutes in total.
3. At 3:40, the boat will arrive at Waitanyuan (South Suzhou Road near Zhapu Road Bridge). We will stay for 5 minutes.
4. At 4:00, the boat will arrive at the Sihang Warehouse Pier, and we will disembark and take the bus shuttle back. It takes about 15 minutes.
5. At 4:15, we will arrive at the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.
