习主席关于台湾的发言发出明确的信号 - 2026-07-14

In a speech marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping made an important statement on the Taiwan question that was firm in stance, weighty in substance and clear in direction.

Xi declared that resolving the Taiwan question and achieving China's complete reunification is a historic mission of the Party and the common aspiration of all Chinese people.

Xi called for full implementation of the Party's overall policy on the Taiwan question in the new era, upholding the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus, uniting Taiwan compatriots, and deepening cross-Strait exchanges, cooperation and integrated development. He also reiterated a firm opposition to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and external interference, while steadily advancing national reunification.

This reaffirmation of the CPC's reunification path at a major political juncture sent a strong signal: the goal of reunification is firmer, the bottom line is clearer, the effort is more focused, and the policy space for winning the hearts of Taiwan compatriots is broader.

Xi's emphasis on reunification as the Party's historic mission shows that the Taiwan question has long been a part of the broader framework of national rejuvenation and Chinese modernization.

The Party's 105-year history is one of striving for national independence, people's liberation, national prosperity and rejuvenation. Since the Taiwan question emerged, ending political confrontation and realizing complete national reunification have become part of this historical process.

The message was clear. The Taiwan question cannot be delayed indefinitely, national reunification must be advanced with resolve, and attempts to separate Taiwan from China are futile. A mission implies a clear responsibility, political direction and path of action.

It tells Taiwan, the outside world and the international community that the Chinese mainland maintains long-term strategic resolve and it will not waver because of temporary turbulence, nor retreat under external pressure.

By reaffirming the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus, Xi drew the political bottom line for cross-Strait relations and consolidated the common foundation for dialogue and consultation.

For the two sides to communicate, cooperate and pursue peaceful development, it must be clearly acknowledged that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China. Any dialogue bypassing this principle has no political foundation.

Xi's renewed emphasis shows that the mainland's door to peaceful development remains open, and its sincerity in uniting Taiwan compatriots remains as strong as ever.

Economic cooperation, cultural exchange, youth interaction and grassroots engagement should all be built on this shared political foundation. When the foundation is recognized, there is room for consultation.

When it is upheld, there is room for peace in the Taiwan Strait. When it is strengthened, Taiwan compatriots can share development opportunities and shape their future in the process of national rejuvenation.

The one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus are the ballast of stability in the Taiwan Strait and the key to bringing cross-Strait relations back on track.

The call to unite Taiwan compatriots and deepen cross-Strait exchanges, cooperation and integrated development conveys goodwill toward Taiwan society. Taiwan compatriots are family members of the Chinese nation.

The deeper cross-Strait exchanges become, the stronger the bonds of kinship will be. The more intertwined development interests become, the less space there will be for separatist narratives.

The mainland continues to promote economic cooperation, youth exchanges, cultural interaction and grassroots contact so that people in Taiwan can see the real mainland, participate in Chinese modernization and share the opportunities of national rejuvenation. Some political forces on the island create divides and sell fear. They harm the interests of Taiwan residents and narrow the prospects of Taiwan's youth.

Xi's emphasis on exchanges, cooperation and integrated development is meant to broaden the path of peaceful development, cross-Strait integration and national reunification, reinforcing the trend of people on both sides moving closer to one another.

Public support is the foundation of stability, and shared interests are the basis of a common future. When the nation is united in heart, the momentum toward reunification cannot be stopped.

The firm opposition to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and external interference sends a clear warning: national sovereignty cannot be challenged, national interests cannot be traded, and the process of reunification cannot be blocked.

Any "Taiwan independence" separatist who relies on foreign forces is pushing Taiwan residents to the front line of risk. The Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair, and any external force that intervenes infringes upon China's core interests.

By placing opposition to "Taiwan independence" and external interference side by side, Xi showed that the mainland clearly understands the risk structure in the Taiwan Strait. Separatist forces on the island and external interventionist forces feed off each other and have become the greatest source of disruption to peace in the Taiwan Strait.

The mainland is willing to strive for peaceful reunification with the greatest sincerity. But that sincerity has no room for separatist activities.

The clearer the bottom line, the more stable peace will be. The stronger the countermeasures, the more controllable the situation will be.

Xi's remarks placed the Taiwan question and complete national reunification at the forefront of strategic advancement.

They tell Taiwan society that the door to peaceful development remains open and the road of integrated development will continue to widen. They also tell "Taiwan independence" forces and external meddlers that any attempt to challenge the one-China principle, and to internationalize or weaponize the Taiwan question, will only increase risks and end in failure.

China must be, and will be, reunified.

This is the trend of history, the cause of the nation, and the historic responsibility that the CPC must fulfill on the journey in the new era.
