美团推出AI浏览器Tabbit 2026-03-02
Meituan’s artificial intelligence research team GN06, formerly known as AI startup Light Year, has on March 2 launched the public beta of its first AI-native browser, Tabbit, marking the internet company’s latest push into AI-driven applications beyond its core life services business.
Tabbit integrates web browsing, comprehensive web search, AI-enabled conversations, and complex task execution into a single platform. The public testing phase is free and does not require an invitation code, and users can download the browser directly from its official website.
The intelligent agent embedded in Tabbit can automatically execute complex operations based on user instructions, including extracting data from multiple business platforms to generate analytical reports, automatically filling out forms across various Software as a Service systems, and conducting in-depth searches across the web to produce structured research reports. Tabbit aggregates several large language models -- LongCat, DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, Doubao, Qwen, and Minimax -- enabling users to switch between them depending on specific needs.
To lower switching barriers, Tabbit supports one-click migration of all data from mainstream browsers such as Chrome, Safari, and Edge, while retaining Chrome’s basic user experience and operating logic.
Light Year, an artificial general intelligence company founded in February 2023 by Wang Huiwen, one of Meituan’s co-founders, received an initial investment of USD50 million. On June 29, 2023, Meituan fully acquired Light Year for CNY2.1 billion (USD306.2 million) to explore new AI application products beyond its main business.
