特斯拉计划将上海打造为人形机器人中心 2026-04-15
Tesla's Gigafactory Shanghai is poised to become a manufacturing powerhouse not just for electric vehicles, but for humanoid robots, officials said on Tuesday during a media tour that was open to major outlets around the world.
The tour includes altogether 31 media outlets around the world, such as Reuters, Bloomberg, The Associated Press and Nikkei Inc.
As the American multinational giant transitions from traditional manufacturing to artificial intelligence, Shanghai is leveraging its robust industrial base to support Tesla's global ambitions.
"Large-scale manufacturing capability is one of the key foundations for the development of humanoid robots, and Gigafactory Shanghai is a strong example of that capability in practice," said Allan Wang, vice president of Tesla Inc and President of Tesla China.

The localization rate at the Shanghai plant now exceeds 95 percent. Furthermore, out of more than 400 Chinese suppliers working with Tesla, over 60 have integrated into its global supply chain.
"With the Shanghai megafactory now shipping energy storage products internationally, the city has cemented its status as a primary export hub," Wang noted. "Tesla's decision to build its first vehicle factory outside the US in Shanghai was exactly based on this potential, thanks to the city's open and highly efficient business environment."
The media tour also included a visit to the Lingang Cross-Border Data Service Center in the Pudong New Area. The center is addressing key issues related to data transfer. Whether exporting smart connected vehicles, energy storage systems, or future robotics, seamless and secure data transfer is non-negotiable.
Center officials also addressed public interest surrounding the potential overseas transfer of data for Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system.
They clarified that the center has already released data export operational guidelines for seven major sectors, including smart connected vehicles.
"We will support any data transfer needs that fall within these frameworks, while we have also established a strict security red line that exporting critical data and large volumes of personal information without a formal compliance review is strictly prohibited," said an official with the center.
