The 6th Shanghai International Coffee Culture Festival is set to begin on April 30.

The 6th Shanghai International Coffee Culture Festival is set to begin on April 30, with its opening ceremony to be held at the North Bund water stage in Hongkou district, bringing a citywide coffee-themed gala to residents and tourists throughout the May Day holiday.

Running until May 4, the festival's main venue will stretch along a 2.3-kilometer riverside at the North Bund, transformed into an open block-style market.

This venue will host nearly 300 brand booths and over 20 international coffee shops, organized into four distinct sections: the international zone, industrial chain zone, crossover integration zone, and interactive experience zone.

This year's festival introduces a groundbreaking immersive experience that spans water, land, and air, featuring a water stage, riverside market, and an exclusive low-altitude airship cruise. The event seamlessly incorporates a variety of cultural formats, including intangible cultural heritage crafts, revitalized traditional brands, film and music, e-sports, and recreational fishing. Dedicated zones will highlight the distinctive products and cultures of Yunnan, Shigatse, and Guizhou, promoting regional cooperation and exchange.

Additionally, the festival will introduce a series of Shanghai-Taiwan cultural exchange programs, featuring co-branded specialty coffee blends and cultural salons.

The festival will achieve full citywide coverage across Shanghai, with each district rolling out differentiated coffee-themed events tailored to its own strengths.

Pudong New Area will host the Lujiazui Coffee Festival, connecting coffee with intangible cultural heritage. Huangpu will incorporate coffee experiences into literary events, including the Sinan Book Club and second-hand book fairs. Xuhui will feature crossover events that connect coffee with the beauty and cosmetics industry. Additionally, other districts will offer a diverse array of activities, such as cultural and tourism markets, art exhibitions, and carnivals.

Throughout the event, over 6,000 merchants across the city will participate in joint promotions, bringing nearly 200 of the world's leading coffee brands and industry enterprises to Shanghai. Nearly 50 flagship events and more than 40 prestigious international coffee competitions will take place, with total attendance expected to surpass 1.1 million visitors.

On the industrial front, the festival will feature prominent events such as the Global Coffee Industry Forum and the Shanghai International Coffee Exhibition. Additionally, it will unveil an annual coffee industry white paper and launch the campaign to select premium coffee shops across the city.
