上海人均可支配收入居全国首位 2026-04-26
Shanghai reported the highest per capita disposable income nationwide in the first quarter this year at 26,689 yuan (US$3,912), followed by the capital Beijing, data from China's National Bureau of Statistics showed.
Disposable income – what remains after taxes and mandatory contributions – is a core indicator of household purchasing power and discretionary spending capacity.
The figure underscores the continued concentration of income in China's top-tier cities, with roughly half of provinces averaging around 10,000 yuan over the same period.
The gap highlights structural imbalances in consumption, suggesting that while Shanghai remains a key engine for premium and discretionary spending, broader domestic demand recovery still depends on income growth in lower-tier regions.
