中国力图推动科技贸易,中国(上海)国际技术进出口交易会以创纪录的1,006家参展商规模开幕 2026-06-10

The 12th China Shanghai International Technology Import and Export Fair (CSITF) will open on June 11 with a record 1,006 exhibitors, reinforcing its role as a key gauge of technology trade activity in Shanghai and across China.
The fair has evolved well beyond a traditional exhibition platform since its launch in 2013, serving as a marketplace for technology transactions, international partnerships, and commercialization opportunities. Over the past four editions, intended deals exceeded 2,000 projects, including a record 572 projects last year with planned cooperation valued at nearly CNY1.6 billion (USD223 million).
The event will be held from June 11 to 13 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center under the theme "Technology Drives Progress, Innovation Shapes the Future." The exhibition will cover 38,000 square meters.
The fair is also expanding its international reach, with Lausanne in Switzerland and Scotland's city cluster serving as joint overseas guest cities. Organizers expect the event to generate new technology cooperation opportunities and further strengthen Shanghai's position as a global technology trade hub.
"Every time we participate, we sign intended orders worth hundreds of thousands of yuan," Zhou Zhou, founder of Shanghai-based smart ring producer Daian Biotechnology, told Yicai. "The fair provides diverse cross-border trade channels and allows us to connect with business representatives from numerous domestic and overseas companies."
Official data show that CSITF has been held 11 times since its inception, excluding 2020 and 2021 when both online and offline editions were suspended because of the pandemic. The event has attracted nearly 11,000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions and welcomed over 440,000 professional visitors.
Zhou Lanjun, head of Lehuoyuan Medical Technology, which develops health-monitoring smartwatches, said the company gained more than orders after making its debut at the fair last year. It also connected with a broader network of partners and application scenarios that helped accelerate the commercialization of its technology, Zhou said.
CSITF has helped Lehuoyuan expand into domestic and overseas markets while connecting with upstream and downstream partners. The firm is using the platform to advance cooperation across its supply chain and validate its "hardware + algorithm + service" business model.
Expanding Global Network
One of the most notable features of this year's fair is its growing international participation. CSITF is adopting a dual guest-city mechanism for the first time, with Lausanne and Scotland's city cluster jointly serving as overseas guest cities.
Lausanne will showcase smart healthcare and advanced manufacturing technologies through leading institutions including the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). Scotland's delegation will feature five cities, including Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Glasgow, which served as the overseas guest city at last year's fair, reached more than 20 cooperation intentions with Shanghai-based organizations. This year, the city has returned alongside four other Scottish cities as part of the joint guest-city arrangement.
According to organizers, the international exhibition area has attracted 74 overseas companies organized by 26 foreign trade-promotion agencies. The participants will release more than 80 international technology cooperation proposals during the event.
For the first time, organizers have also arranged a series of bilateral matchmaking sessions for technology cooperation projects. More than 100 domestic and international cooperation requests have been collected and compiled, with free meeting areas and appointment services available for participating companies.
For Shanghai's technology unicorns and emerging innovators, the city serves as both a geographic and strategic hub. Although Lehuoyuan was founded less than three years ago, Zhou Lanjun said the company plans to leverage Shanghai's strengths in global technology trade to launch overseas operations next year.
Zhou Zhou said CSITF helped connect Daian Biotechnology with international partners. Through the fair's matchmaking services, the company incorporated advanced Austrian psychological technology into its artificial intelligence-driven smart ring products.
The products have benefited from growing demand for smart wearable devices, with sales rising more than 80 percent since the beginning of this year. Overseas sales are expected to account for 20 percent of the company's total sales this year.
