Insilico与SK Biopharmaceuticals就潜在的25亿美元药物研发协议达成一致 2026-06-23

Insilico Medicine’s shares jumped after the artificial intelligence-driven drug discovery company signed a research and development partnership with South Korea’s SK Biopharmaceuticals that could generate more than USD2.5 billion in milestone payments and revenue-sharing income.
Insilico’s stock closed up 4.4 percent at HKD40.02 (USD5.10) on June 23 after rising as much as 16 percent intraday and has gained about 66 percent from the initial public offering price since its debut on Dec. 30.
The companies signed the agreement during the 2026 BIO International Convention in San Diego to jointly discover innovative drug candidates for neuroimmune diseases, Insilico announced on June 23. Under the deal, Insilico’s Pharma.AI platform will be responsible for discovering, designing, and optimizing new drug candidates targeting indications including neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases, while SK Biopharmaceuticals will oversee later-stage development and commercialization.
Insilico will receive an upfront payment of USD18 million and near-term milestone payments, with additional development, regulatory, commercialization, and sales-based payments potentially exceeding USD2.5 billion. Investors will be watching whether the partnership can help the company advance its pipeline and move closer to commercializing its first products.
Founded in 2014, Insilico is a multinational biotechnology company with operations in China and the US and operating centers in Boston and Shanghai. The company focuses on using generative artificial intelligence to discover new medicines and says its technology can reduce drug discovery timelines from 2.5 to four years to 12 to 18 months.
Insilico has more than 40 R&D pipeline projects but has yet to commercialize a product. Its revenue is mainly derived from licensing fees related to its drug pipeline and software platforms. The company’s net loss widened to USD352 million last year from USD17.1 million a year earlier, while revenue fell 35 percent to USD56.2 million, according to its latest financial report.
SK Biopharmaceuticals, part of South Korea’s SK Group, specializes in treatments for central nervous system disorders. Its epilepsy drug Cenobamate received US marketing approval in 2019, making it the first South Korean pharmaceutical company to commercialize an innovative drug in the US.
