波音公司在上海推出新培训园区   2026-07-19

Boeing opened a new training campus in Shanghai last Friday, marking a major investment by the US plane maker in aviation training to support growing demand for skilled aviation personnel in the Asia-Pacific.

The new campus, located in the Pudong New Area near Pudong International Airport, replaces its original Shanghai training facility and provides training for pilots, maintenance technicians and cabin crew across the region.

The facility houses full-flight simulators for the 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner, flight training devices for both aircraft types, classrooms for maintenance and cabin training, a computer-based training room and briefing rooms. All simulators and training devices are supported around the clock by certified technicians, according to the company.

"This campus reflects Boeing's long-term commitment to aviation safety and workforce development in the Asia-Pacific region," Chris Broom, vice-president of Boeing Commercial Training Solutions, said in a statement.

"As fleet growth accelerates, we must invest in training infrastructure and high-quality curriculum. We will need to scale capability while preserving the highest standards of safety to sustain excellence in aviation training," he said.

Boeing said the campus will provide localized competency-based courseware, as well as blended and virtual learning options and instructor development focused on practical judgment, decision-making and competency-based training and assessment.

Its global educational outreach program will also be held at the campus, hosting student visits and working with local schools and universities to encourage the next generation of commercial aviation professionals.

According to Boeing's 2025 Pilot and Technician Outlook, the global aviation industry will require nearly 2.4 million newly qualified pilots, maintenance technicians and cabin crew over the next 20 years. More than 700,000 of those will be needed in the Asia-Pacific, including about 203,000 pilots, 215,000 maintenance technicians and 282,000 cabin crew.

Boeing said its original Shanghai Training Campus, which opened in 2009, trained more than 7,000 aviation professionals during its 17 years of operation before relocating to the new site.
