China Eastern Airlines launched real-time push notifications for baggage tracking on Friday across 68 domestic airports, enabling passengers to receive live updates on their checked luggage via the airline's mobile app.
Marking another major step in the carrier's baggage service digitalization, the new notification service is designed to make the luggage transport process more transparent and fully traceable.
The service currently covers 68 airports across Chinese cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Ningbo in Zhejiang province, Xiamen in Fujian province, Nanjing in Jiangsu province, Qingdao in Shandong province, Wuhan in Hubei province, Xi'an in Shaanxi province and Chengdu in Sichuan province.
China Eastern plans to further expand the digital service to more airports, delivering comprehensive luggage updates to passengers nationwide, according to the carrier.
