科济药业在中国启动全球首款实体瘤CAR-T疗法商业化 2026-08-20

Chinese innovative drug developer CARsgen Therapeutics Holdings has completed T-cell collection for its first foreign patient receiving its chimeric-antigen receptor T-cell therapy targeting advanced gastric cancer, which is the world’s first treatment of its kind for solid tumors.
Costing CNY990,000 (USD138,000) for a course of treatment, Satri-cel was the first solid-tumor CAR-T cell therapy to be given the green light to go to market in China on June 22. Investors have been closely watching how widely the treatment is being used following the recent release of the Shanghai-based company’s financial results.
Satri-cel has been prescribed to its first clinical patient in China at Beijing Go Broad Hospital, a CARSgen representative said at the earnings call on August 19. Zhongshan Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai’s Fudan University, has completed cell collection for the world’s first patient, while Jiahui International Cancer Center has completed T-cell collection for the first foreign patient.
CARsgen expects to begin generating recognized revenue from Satri-cel in the second half of the year and estimates that there could be 200 orders for the treatment this year, it said. The firm projects sales of Satri-cel in mainland China to peak within four to five years of the product’s launch at over CNY2 billion (USD296.8 million) a year.
CARsgen plans to attract patients from abroad using three main approaches, Chairman Li Zonghai said. These are directly bringing international patients to China for treatment, accelerating access in selected overseas regions and countries through Named Patient Programs and directly seeking regulatory approval to register and market the therapy in international markets.
CARSgen’s net loss narrowed 5.3 percent in the first half from a year earlier to CNY71 million (USD10.5 million), while revenue surged 21.5 percent to CNY62 million (USD9.2 million), according to the company’s first-half financial report. Most of the revenue was generated by another CAR-T product, Zevor-cell, which is used to treat relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
