霍尼韦尔在中国启用首个创新中心 2026-09-02

Honeywell Technologies has opened its first innovation center in China, which is also the first innovation platform and experience center the US automation giant has established since spinning off its aerospace business just over two months ago.
Located in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang High-Tech Park, the center features a technology experience center, a customer experience center, and an innovation workshop. It focuses on energy, smart manufacturing, and infrastructure, covering 12 key industries, such as semiconductors, energy storage, new energy vehicles, maritime and offshore engineering, life sciences, and data centers.
In late June, Honeywell completed the spin-off listing of its aerospace business, Honeywell Aerospace. The remaining pure-play automation company was renamed Honeywell Technologies from just Honeywell.
One of the reasons behind the establishment of an innovation center in China is the concept of “serving the East from the East,” Yu Feng, president of Honeywell Technologies China, told Yicai. Moreover, the Chinese market is massive, with rapidly changing customer needs and high demands, making it one of the best training grounds for enterprises, he added.
The sources of incremental growth in the Chinese economy are changing, and Honeywell Technologies needs to identify new growth areas, such as sustainability, new energy, energy storage, shipbuilding, and data centers, Yu said.
The company’s business in China has been undergoing a layout shift in recent years, said Xu Yilin, chief commercial officer of Honeywell Technologies China. One key task is to adjust the focus of the firm’s industrial layout based on its own resource endowments and innovation capabilities, he added.
Several other multinational corporations have established or unveiled plans to establish research and development centers in China this year.
Boehringer Ingelheim announced in August that it intends to build a new R&D center in Shanghai. Reckitt inaugurated the Shanghai Science Innovation Center in July, with a total investment of over CNY300 million (USD44.6 million). Sanofi launched a comprehensive strategic upgrade of its R&D center in China in March. L'Oréal upgraded its China R&D center to global R&D center in May.
