中国将装备与技术标准带入“技能奥运会”   2026-09-28

 

China has moved beyond simply competing in the WorldSkills Competition -- a biennial contest often dubbed the “Skills Olympics” -- to having its equipment and technical practices and standards represented in how individual events are conducted.

Apart from topping this year’s medal table, China contributed equipment for a range of events such as baking, rail vehicle technology, and aircraft maintenance, with some of the gear used at the six-day 48th WorldSkills Competition, which ended in Shanghai yesterday, for the very first time.

Hanbei Machinery Technology sponsored the baking competition category and supplied a complete set of China-made equipment, including European-style ovens, convection ovens, and proofing cabinets. It is the first time that domestically produced baking equipment has been used at WorldSkills, Jiang Man, an employee at the Shanghai-based company, told Yicai.

Rail Vehicle Technology was one of the new categories added to this year's WorldSkills. Jie'an High-Tech supplied the hardware including pantographs, train doors, bogies, and complete vehicle electrical systems. For Aircraft Maintenance, the Zhengzhou-based company also supplied an all-inclusive maintenance training platform modeled on a domestically manufactured large passenger aircraft.

This year also marks the first time that a domestically manufactured large passenger aircraft has been used at the WorldSkills Competition, said Jie'an High-Tech staffer Zhang Dan.

Zhang noted that by taking part in the WorldSkills program, technical requirements such as those for rail transit system installation, commissioning, and pantograph maintenance can be codified into competition standards and serve as a reference for other countries. Jie'an High-Tech has expanded into eight countries across three continents, with Southeast Asia its main overseas market.

The Renewable Energy competition category used an integrated energy system supplied by Weichuangjing Group, covering photovoltaics, wind power, energy storage, and hydrogen energy. The gear integrates national technical standards, university talent training standards, and WorldSkills operational standards, according to Cheng Weiwei, head of the Zhenjiang-based firm’s education research institute.

The presence of Chinese equipment at the competition was accompanied by the incorporation of Chinese industry standards into some competition rules. The Rail Vehicle Technology program was developed based on China’s rail transit maintenance practices and adopts Chinese standards.

These standards originate in the production environments of Chinese manufacturers, said Luo Zhaoqiang, the event’s chief expert. The operating processes required are all based on current standards used in China’s rail transit manufacturing industry, he said.

“We’ve evolved from learners of the rules to rule-makers, and finally to promoters of the rules,” Luo pointed out.
