松江经济技术开发区将建影视城 - 2015年05月15日

A movie and television town will be established in the Songjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The town will have a construction area equivalent to 35 soccer fields. After completion, it will serve as a base for international and domestic filmmaking.

Local reports said 26 foreign directors and producers have already expressed interest in the site.

Convention facilities, hotels and office buildings will be part of the town, which will cover 24,000 square meters.

Seven film projects are expected in the first two years.

Separately, a foundation stone was laid in late April for construction of the Songjiang Internet of Things Core Industry Base in the Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The site, which will cover the equivalent of 40 soccer fields, includes an exhibition center, a convention center, a research institute and commercial space for major companies in the area.

Among those companies is Ruizhang Technology Co., a leading firm in the Internet of Things industry.
