Agencies hit as travelers cancel South Korea trips due to MERS
NEARLY 800 people have canceled trips to South Korea as a result of the MERS outbreak, a local travel agency said yesterday.
Shanghai Spring Tour said that its business has been “severely affected” by the crisis and that it is closely monitoring the situation in South Korea, where 36 MERS cases have already been confirmed.
Despite customers’ concerns, the China National Tourism Administration has yet to issue a travel warning for South Korea, so the company said it will continue to offer tours.
