Shanghai’s Yangpu District and the Chinese University of Hong Kong sign agreement to build CUHK Shanghai Center
The establishment of the CUHK’s Shanghai Center is a key part of its development on the Chinese mainland. Apart from supporting the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, the CUHK will also promote the training of innovative and professional personnel, science and innovation cooperation and academic exchanges. The Center will actively take advantage of the resources of Shanghai and Hong Kong, jointly develop and provide personnel training with Yangpu District, and build a platform for exchanges between entrepreneurs, scholars and students of the two places, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between the government, universities and enterprises.
At the meeting, the CUHK and Shanghai Yangpu Technology Innovation (Group) Co., Ltd. signed the Cooperation Framework Agreement on promoting the construction of the CUHK’s Shanghai Center and the plaque of the CUHK’s Shanghai Center was unveiled. The Center will be located in the Shanghai Penta Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute. After completion, the CUHK’s Shanghai Center will hold various academic conferences and forums regularly, which will play a positive role in strengthening exchanges between universities and enterprises, gathering and training high-level talents, and transforming scientific and technological achievements between enterprises, universities and research institutes.
