Mechanism to create a world-class international shipping center
Shanghai has set up a mechanism to create a world-class international shipping center by linking customs services for the city, and parts of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.
The new mechanism is called "customs-linkage", meaning inland ports will be regarded as an extension of Shanghai port and, fall under the same system of supervision.
It enables Zhejiang's export goods to go through customs declaration procedures at the local port, and then directly leave the country after arriving at Yangshan Port.
