Shanghai Pudong International Airport retains best airport title in 2025
The Shanghai Pudong International Airport was named as the winner of the 2025 airport service quality customer experience awards among Asia-Pacific's airports handling over 40 million passengers per year, according to the Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.
Published by Airports Council International, the trade association of the world's airports, the ranking is based on performance among the best globally and defined by real-time passenger data collected through Airport Service Quality (ASQ)'s departures and arrivals surveys. This is the sixth year in a row that Shanghai Pudong International Airport was named among the best airports, said the Shanghai Airport (Group) last Friday.
The airport handled 84.99 million passenger trips in 557,000 take-offs and landings throughout 2025, a year-on-year increase of 10.7 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively.
In 2025, the airport saw its transit passenger trips grow 14 percent year-on-year to reach 13.75 million, thanks to a handful of optimized services covering customs, border inspection, security checks, resting cabins, shower rooms and overnight rest areas, according to the Shanghai Airport (Group).
The Airport Council International's ASQ satisfaction survey is an authoritative service quality evaluation in global civil aviation that assesses and recognizes the services of hub airports worldwide based on 31 indicators covering eight aspects every year.
