Bonded areas in Shanghai Free Trade Zone are improving services for overseas professionals. They take the one-stop shop approach to serve expats in residence permit and work permit applications.

A designated hospital established a green channel for foreigners to take health exam without waiting in a long queue. The practice has been introduced to another hospital in Senlan area in Waigaoqiao, Pudong.

The exit-entry authorities also introduced a 24-hour self-service system in the free trade zone for people to obtain travel permits to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
