This year’s first job fair for graduating students took place on Saturday, attracting about 10,000 applicants despite the weather.
“We expect that the employment situation in Shanghai will remain stable in 2019 in spite of slowing economic growth and trade tensions between China and the United States,” said Cheng Zhengdong, director of Shanghai’s talent service center.
A total of 546 enterprises showed up at the annual event, offering 13,275 vacancies, up 9.5 percent from last year, said Cheng.
