QR code set to track Metro and bus users
The QR code which tracks taxi passengers will soon be introduced to Metro trains and buses, the Shanghai government said on Tuesday.
Passengers who scan the code and enter their mobile phone number in an app will be contacted for the purpose of prevention of the spread of coronavirus.
By Monday, the code was in over 18,000 taxis, and about 24,000 people had scanned it and registered themselves, said Yang Xiaoxi, vice director of the transport commission.
