Shanghai will further enhance information registration and screening by neighborhood and village committees of people arriving in the city from countries hard hit by the coronavirus epidemic, a senior civil affairs official told a press conference on Sunday.
"Preventing the spread of coronavirus via imported cases is the priority now, requiring stricter home quarantine measures at communities," said Zeng Qun, deputy director of the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau.
Shanghai has imposed a home quarantine mechanism on people from key regions since January 24.
