Shanghai screens people from COVID-19 medium-risk region
All people coming or returning to Shanghai from China’s medium-risk regions for the coronavirus will be subject to 14-day community health management measures like home quarantine from today, Shanghai’s epidemic prevention and control office announced late last night.
Qingdao in east China’s Shandong Province has listed its Loushanhou community, where the Qingdao Chest Hospital is, as a medium-risk region — the only one in China now — after new cases linked to the hospital were found.
Shanghai will launch a screening drive of people from the region who arrived in the city within 14 days. They must undergo two weeks of strict community measures. People arriving in Shanghai from the region between September 30 and October 6 will receive a free COVID-19 nucleic acid test, while those arriving between October 7-12 will take the tests twice.
