The Lingang New Area recently released the traffic transportation plan for the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Lingang will continue to improve the external and internal transportation infrastructure construction so as to ensure that residents can reach the Pudong, Longyang Road, and Hongqiao hubs as well as major Yangtze River Delta region town within 15, 30, 60 and 90 minutes, respectively.
In terms of external transportation, the Lingang New Area will strengthen the connection with the regional backbone road network, actively build a network of high expressways and trunk roads, form three high expressway road network patterns such as G1503, S2 and Lianggang Avenue, complete the construction of the S2 Highway Harbor Avenue interchange and S2 Highway South Xinyuan Road Flyover, and promote the construction of the new Shanghai-Hangzhou Highway, the new Siping Highway and other roads. Meanwhile, the new area will also improve the port's collection and distribution system.
In improving the internal transportation network, the Lingang New Area plans to construct T1, T2, T6 medium-capacity lines, ensure more than 80 percent of 500-meter coverage rate of bus stations, and accelerate the construction of 10 public transport hubs and two bus parking lots.
In addition, Lingang will improve the urban main road network system in the area, and promote the construction of a number of major roads such as South Xinyuan Road, Hucheng Ring Road, etc. By 2025, the total mileage of newly reconstructed primary roads will reach 110 kilometers.
