Lingang signs agreements with 18 auto giants
The scale of intelligent and new-energy vehicle industry in Lingang New Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone is set to surpass 200 billion yuan (US$30.77 billion) by 2025, officials from the Lingang Management Committee said at a signing ceremony of agreements with 18 auto heavyweights on May 21.
The 18 auto companies include SAIC, Yanfeng, Magna and AVL List which have settled in the Lingang New Area, covering complete vehicles, chips, autonomous driving systems, interiors, bodies, new materials, and core components of hydrogen fuel vehicles with total investment exceeding 16 billion yuan.
Shanghai will support the Lingang New Area, Jiading's Anting and Pudong's Jinqiao to build a world-class NEV industry cluster. In addition, it will promote the integrated development of fuel-cell and intelligent vehicles in the Yangtze River Delta region.
