外高桥保税区对玛莎拉蒂重启“落地保税” - 2021年09月18日

The first batch of imported Maserati cars was put into the Waigaoqiao Comprehensive Bonded Zone for storage and display on Wednesday without paying tax, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone Group Co said.

It is a new breakthrough in the bonded function of imported vehicles in the free trade zone. Now, tax for these products can be collected on being sold.

This measure can help reduce enterprises’ financial burden and operating costs, cut the customs clearance time and further activate the potential of the domestic consumer market, the group said.

Mirko Bordiga, managing director of Maserati China, said this breakthrough will also support the company to develop the Chinese market and the Asia Pacific market.

Currently, the zone has a 50,000-square-meter bonded warehouse for automobiles.

More well-known brands of vehicles and premiered products will be imported into the zone and a distribution center for display and sale of high-end imported cars will be established. The annual import of cars will reach 3,000, worth about US$180 million, the group said.
