District branch park to make sweet music
JIADING District signed an agreement with China Music Industry Park last month, to establish a branch park in Jiading Town, the first of its kind in Shanghai.
China Music Industry Park was set up in July 2009 by China General Administration of Press and Publication, aiming to promote the development of the audio and video industry. Four months later the administration gave Shanghai Synergy Culture & Entertainment Group approval to establish a national music industry production base in Shanghai’s Hongkou District.
“Due to the limited space in Hongkou, the needs of many music companies to be set up in the base can’t be met,” said Fan Zhu, deputy director of Jiading Town Community.
Under the agreement, the Synergy Group will bring domestic and overseas music and cultural resources to Jiading, and build up a route for local music companies going abroad, so as to promote communication in music and cultural markets.
“Things like introducing overseas cultural troupes to give performances in China, music copyright, Internet, mobile apps and online games are all related to music industry. Nowadays more and more families are cultivating their children’s musical talent. Later on, music education and training companies will also be set up here,” Fan said.
The Jiading Branch Park of China Music Industry Park will be located in a renovated textile factory, and it has already attracted a number of companies, including Mahua Fun Age, a musical and stage play provider.
