MULTIFUNCTIONAL street lamps with LED lights, cameras, digital screens, which can calculate the number of visitors in an area and send out warning messages, will be put up at popular tourist sites.

These “intellectual street lamp” has been developed by Shanghai Feilo Acoustics Co, a major acoustics equipment manufacturer in the city.

A company official, Wang Hao, said they had set different levels to monitor crowd with the camera. A tiny base station on the lamp collects cellphone signals in the area.
