Why is Shanghai Forum 2018 important?

In this age of great change, the only certainty is ubiquitous uncertainty.Therefore, Shanghai Forum has expanded the overarching theme to “ Asia's Responsibilities in a World of Change”, in hopes that Asia would be able to apply its resources and wisdom to a broader scope. 

Shanghai Forum 2018 is determined to explore Asia’s new mission in today’s political and economic world order.

Shanghai Forum 2018 will be held from May 26-28.A convergence over 500 elites of academics and practitioners from across the world would  offer speechs and advice to audience about  Asia's Responsibilities in a World of Change .

In the coming Shanghai Forum 2018，  Thomas Sargent（2011 Nobel Laureate in Economics ）, Shamshad Akhtar（Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific），Donald Kaberuka（Former President of the African Development Bank Group) (2005-2015)，Graham Tillett Allison, Jr.（Founding Dean of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard），Wang Xinkui（Former Chairman of Shanghai People’s Political Consultative Conference; President of Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center; Director, Counsellors’ Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government）will dilever keynote speeches at the opening ceremony.

About Shanghai Forum

Shanghai Forum, launched in 2005, is known as one of the most famous international forums held in Shanghai. Co-hosted by Fudan University and Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, undertaken by Fudan Development Institute (FDDI), the Forum is a non-governmental and non-profit academic organization, which holds an annual symposium each May in Shanghai.

Shanghai Forum takes its mission to “Concentrate on Asia, Focus on Hot Issues, Congregate Elites, Promote Interactions, Enhance Cooperation and Seek Consensus” seriously. Shanghai Forum 2018 will be staged on May 26-28 in Shanghai with the theme of“ Asia's Responsibilities in a World of Change”

The opening ceremony will be held in the Grand Ballroom, 7th Floor, SICC at 9:00 a.m. May 26.

Rountables will be held in the Grand Ballroom on the afternoon of May 26

And subforums and closing ceremony will be held in Handan Campus,Fudan University  in May 27-28
