Expert Profiles

Yang Jianwen, a second-level researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, brings a wealth of experience as a senior expert affiliated with a national high-end think tank, formerly serving as the Director of the Institute of Applied Economy. Furthermore, he holds a key role as a researcher at the Shanghai Branch of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges. Yang’s contributions have been honored with the State Council’s special allowance, and he is also a recipient of the prestigious Sun Yefang Economics Book Award. His areas of expertise encompass industrial economics and development economics, and he has devoted substantial effort to conducting in-depth research and providing invaluable consultancy in the realm of economic decision-making. Notably, he has held positions as a specially appointed decision-making consulting and research expert for the Shanghai Municipal Government and as a specially appointed comprehensive research expert for the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

Ding Botao, holding the position of deputy director and associate researcher at the Institute of Information, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, boasts a multifaceted portfolio of responsibilities. In addition to his academic roles, he concurrently serves as a distinguished member of the 7th Shanghai Informatization Expert Committee. He has further assumed the role of Vice President at the Shanghai Information Society and Vice Chairman of the Yangtze River Delta Dual Carbon Research Institute. Notably, Ding also serves as the director of Shanghai Enterprise Informatization Promotion Center. His current focus revolves around the dynamic domains of smart cities, the digital economy, and data governance, where he conducts vital research and contributes significantly to these burgeoning fields.

Xie Yiqing, an associate researcher at the Institute of China Studies, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, has cultivated expertise in the spheres of international economics and finance. The research extends to the nuanced analysis of corporate internationalization and global value chains, leveraging micro-enterprise data. Additionally, Xie is renowned for insights into China’s financial policy effects and financial derivatives. The scholarly endeavors have led to the publication of numerous papers in authoritative core journals of SSCI and CSSCI. Notably, the edited work, “Financial Engineering and its Application Research in China,” received accolades and was named one of the top ten books by the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Press in 2020.
