meandering through the heart of this ancient enclave is the enchanting Qibao
Old Street, where the tranquil Puhui River serenely flows, bridged by several
stoic stone arches. Embark on a journey through time as you explore this
timeless locale, adorned by the winding pathways of Qibao Old Street, the

Qibao.” This celebration harmoniously melds refined and popular culture,
skillfully weaving a narrative that both cherishes traditions and embraces
innovation. The overarching ambiance is steeped in the auspicious symbolism of
the golden dragon, a potent symbol of prosperity and good fortune. A

Nanxiang Old Street stands as a
living testament to the rich tapestry of history, commerce, and culture woven
into the fabric of the ancient town of Nanxiang. As we approach the Year of the
Dragon, Nanxiang Old Street has embraced the thematic allure of “Flowers on
Thousands of Trees, Fish and Dragon Dance.” This captivating motif seamlessly
weaves together the folklore of Nanxiang’s “Land of Dragon Cave” and Tanyuan
Garden’s fancy carps, infusing the air with a spirited atmosphere reminiscent
of the Spring and Lantern Festivals. Adorning the middle expanse of the twin
towers, intricate gantry frames grace both sides of the street, supporting
dragon-shaped lanterns suspended overhead, creating a luminous tapestry that
symbolizes the most heartfelt wishes and aspirations for the coming year. The
thoroughfare is divided into three segments on People’s Street, each adorned
with sets of resplendent koi lanterns. A mesmerizing display of koi carps of
various sizes gracefully meanders through People’s Street, symbolizing the
auspicious wishes for “fish leaping over the dragon’s gate” and the perpetual
abundance of each passing year. On the southern flank of Jiefang Street, the
boughs of street trees serve as elegant hosts for sky lanterns and ancient
poetry lanterns. This poetic arrangement, rooted in the essence of traditional
Chinese culture, establishes a “Poetry Culture Gallery.” Through the medium of
poetry, this gallery becomes a captivating window into the timeless charm of
Jiangnan and a dedicated custodian of China’s exceptional cultural heritage.
Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, renowned
as “China’s No. 1 Commercial Street,” is infused with a festive spirit as the Chinese
New Year approaches. Commencing on January 20, the 2024 Nanjing Roadside
Market, themed “Dragon Travels and Blessings Come,” unfolded against the
backdrop of the newly inaugurated Century Plaza. Covering an expansive area of
over 2,000 square meters, this bustling market hosts more than 80 specialty
merchants offering a diverse array of offerings, including new product
launches, Internet-famous delicacies, CIIE treasures, and venerable brands from
the Yangtze River Delta. Additionally, immersive check-in points and
interactive displays further enhance the overall experience.
This Chinese New Year market extravaganza
is meticulously crafted through spatial renewal, scene curation, IP
integration, and experiential fusion. The result is a captivating array of
visually appealing, entertaining, delectable, and practical New Year delights
at every turn, creating a dynamic and exhibition-like ambiance. This innovative
shopping experience not only rejuvenates the city’s retail landscape but also
caters to the discerning tastes of both citizens and tourists. By stimulating
consumption potential and invigorating business vitality, it pioneers a novel
paradigm of consumption scene innovation, ushering in a new era of “Business +”
integration and linkage infused with the distinctive characteristics of Shanghai.
