To further deepen collaboration in international shipping and aviation affairs and promote sound and sustainable development of the industries, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Ministry of Transport of P.R.C will co-organize the 4th North Bund Forum 2024 at The Grand Halls (No.8, North Bund Road, Shanghai) from October 22nd to 24th, 2024.

The theme of North Bund Forum 2024 shall be “Digital, Smart and Green: Co-creating a New Ecosystem of Global Shipping and Aviation”. The Forum will gather government officials, heads of international organizations, representatives of leading enterprises and authoritative agencies, and renowned experts and scholars for extensive dialogues and exchange of ideas regarding hot issues as well as focal and cutting-edge topics for the global shipping and aviation industry.

Brief Introduction of the North Bund Forum

Co-hosted by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Ministry of Transport of China, the North Bund Forum is an annual event with a view to further deepening collaboration in international shipping and aviation affairs and promoting sound and sustainable development of the industries. The first three editions were held successfully from 2021 to 2023. Over 450 domestic and foreign speakers contributed their wisdom, and more than 60 major projects were released.

President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the first North Bund Forum 2021, emphasizing the advancement of international cooperation in the shipping and aviation industries in line with the new trends of green, low-carbon and intelligent development. During the previous forums, government officials, leaders from international organizations, representatives of leading enterprises and authoritative agencies, and renowned experts and scholars gathered and delivered speeches, including Minister of the Ministry of Transport of the P.R.C, Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Government, Ministers of competent departments from the Netherlands, Greece, Norway, Pakistan, and Singapore, Leaders of the UN, the IMO, and the ICAO, and heads of the MSC, Maersk, GE Aviation, Aéroports de Paris, BIMCO, ICS, IATA, ACI World, IAPH, and SkyTeam, etc.

The North Bund Forum 2024 plans to be held at the Grand Hall in Shanghai from October 22th to 24th, 2024, which consists of the Opening Ceremony and Main Forum devoted to Shipping and Aviation, and N thematic sessions, organized by China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, China Eastern Air Holding Company Limited, Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Airport Authority, Maritime Safety Administration of the P.R.C, China Rescue and Salvage of the Ministry of Transport of the P.R.C, China Classification Society, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China Maritime Arbitration Commission, Shanghai Shipping Exchange, China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association, Shanghai Maritime University and Maritime Technology Cooperation Center in Asia.

The North Bund Forum is dedicated to serving as an international, high-end, and professional platform for exchange of views and insights, release of important policies, and development of rules and regulations for the global shipping and aviation industry.
