This Forum is scheduled to be held on October 22 to 30, 2020 in Shanghai under the theme of “Global Cooperation and Governance of Science and Technology Innovation”. Reviewing backwards, open cooperation is a key driving force for enhancing the vitality of international economics and trade. Grasping the present, open cooperation is an actual requirement to promote the stable recovery of the world economy. Looking to the future, open cooperation is the requirement of the era to promote the continuous progress of the human society. This Forum will focus on how to build a global innovation governance system that promotes common development through strengthening open cooperation under the new international situation, and how to play the role of science and technology innovation in supporting and leading high-quality development.
Topic setting of the Forum. The events of the Forum mainly consists of "1+1+16", namely 1 main forum (the opening ceremony and the plenary session), 1 special event (Global Technology Transfer Fair (INNO-MATCH EXPO) with more than 20 sessions of supporting activities), and 16 special sub-forums, cooperation sub-forums and result release conferences around the topics including the Belt and Road Initiative, regions, policies, young scientists, entrepreneurs, science and technology finance, future science and emerging technologies.
The main forum: the opening ceremony and the plenary session. It is scheduled to be held at 15:00 on October 22 by means of offline main venue + overseas online/recording access + network live streaming. The main agenda includes the opening ceremony, keynote speeches and conference report.
Global Technology Transfer Fair (INNO-MATCH EXPO). The 1st INNO-MATCH fair will be held at Shanghai Exhibition Center from October 28 to 30, and the opening ceremony is scheduled to be held in the morning of October 28. The offline exhibition area covers an area of nearly 10,000 square meters with supporting cloud exhibition facilities , which is structured into four major sections (Tech-top, Tech-need, Tech-world, and Tech-new) and a special exhibition area (for Country of Honor, and Province of Honor.
At the opening ceremony and the plenary session to be held on the afternoon of October 22, Andrew Yao, the first Asian Winner of Turing Award, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Foreign Academician of National Academy of Sciences, United States, Shi Yigong, President of West Lake University, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wu Manqing, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, will deliver a plenary speech. In the special session of thematic talks, Nikolaj Gilbert, President of Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), and Richard Hatchett, CEO of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) will share views and have interactive exchanges with Lance Rodewald, Senior Consultant of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Chen Kaixian, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chen Erzhen, Vice President of Ruijin Hospital, and Zhang Wenhong, Director of Department of Infectious Diseases, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, around the theme of “Scientific Innovation in Global Health Governance”.
