Nicolás Damin, a researcher at the Center for Argentina-China Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Buenos Aires said: “ Not setting a clear (economic) growth target is a pragmatic decision made by China. Foreign scholars spoke highly of China’s poverty alleviation work
Brazilian and Russian scholars touted China’s achievements in poverty alleviation, saying China has set a good example for other countries to learn from.
Paulo Roberto Feldman, professor of Economics at the University of Sao Paulo said: “China’s achievement in eradicating poverty is one of the most significant achievements in the past few decades and a model for the mankind. Other countries should learn from the efforts made by the Chinese government to alleviate poverty.”
Evgeny Bazhanov, former president of Diplomatic Academy of Russian Foreign Ministry, said: “Russian tourists coming back from China have had vivid experience and learning. They’ve been talking about China’s great achievements in various fields, including aerospace, agriculture, information technology, industry, sports, culture and poverty alleviation. In the past few decades, China has leapfrogged in poverty alleviation and eradication. There are a lot we can learn from China experience.”
