US Manufacturers Debut New Products at CIIE to Seize New Opportunities in China

US manufacturers have brought products covering industrial digitalization, green energy, and high-end equipment to the Ninth China International Import Expo, which is not only a platform for showcasing technology but also an important channel for meeting China's manufacturing upgrading needs and expanding cooperation.

GE Vernova is showcasing its 9HA and 6F.03 gas turbines and its LM6000 VELOX aeroderivative gas turbine, which can generate power using 100 percent hydrogen, as well as its direct air capture and carbon capture and storage technologies. The US energy company is also hosting the Asia debut of its low-carbon energy transition sand table, which presents power system solutions for different scenarios in northwestern, central, and southeastern China.

Honeywell Technologies, which has attended all nine CIIE editions, is participating in the expo under its new brand after the spin-off from Honeywell, now focusing on its Forge intelligent connected platform and artificial intelligence-driven industry innovation solutions.

More than 20 signings will take place at the CIIE, said Yu Feng, president of Honeywell Technologies China, adding that the 500-square-meter booth showcases the results of cooperation with more than 200 partners.

Honeywell Technologies is also displaying seven products making their China debuts, spanning the semiconductor, data center, smart hotel, marine and offshore engineering, low-carbon energy, energy storage and new energy vehicles, smart healthcare, and smart manufacturing sectors.

Rockwell Automation is showing the CompactLogix 5390 controller for the first time in the world at the CIIE. It has also brought the ControlLogix 5590 controller and the FactoryTalk ResilientEdge execution architecture. The new products focus on cybersecurity, integrated safety, and improved control performance.

Meeting China's Industrial Upgrading Needs

For US companies, the Chinese market is an important part of their global business layout and a key market for applying new technologies and innovating products.

"The CIIE is not only a platform for showcasing advanced technologies and achievements, but also one where we can feel the pulse of the market and advance hand in hand with our partners," said Xu Xin, chairman of GE Energy Investment China.

Honeywell Technologies’ commitment to deepening its presence in China will not change, regardless of the circumstances, Yu said. The firm has 10 research and development engineering centers in the country, and its newest innovation center has joined Pudong New Area's Group Open Innovation initiative.

China's fast-iterating, high-standard market demand, continuously unfolding engineering dividends, and extremely rich application scenarios make it fertile ground for innovation, Yu pointed out.

As the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) begins, manufacturing is accelerating its digital, intelligent, green, and integrated development, said Ian Shih, president of Rockwell Automation China. Companies' focus is shifting from improving the efficiency of a machine or production line to using data and AI to connect different levels and factories, so that practices proven effective in one plant can be replicated in others, he added.

Cooperation is also extending from product displays to technology development in overseas markets. GE Vernova is working with China Huadian on hydrogen-blending combustion retrofits, and with China Machinery Engineering to expand into the Nigerian power market. Its project in Anji, China’s Zhejiang province, jointly developed with CHN Energy Investment Group, has begun operation.

Rockwell Automation has collected more than 500 industrial use cases across more than 100 industrial sub-sectors through its Climate Lighthouse initiative and is helping Chinese companies take their practical experience overseas.
