Nanxiang policies boost games industry - October 28, 2016
蓬勃发展的南翔游戏产业

ESTABLISHED just three years ago, Lilith Game has grown into a leading company in the area, boasting over 900 million players around the globe for its popular game “Soul Hunters.” On September 8, the company held a grand new product launch, introducing six new games.
An industry leader, Lilith is based in Nanxiang Town, Jiading District rather than in Shanghai’s downtown area.
By the end of August, 1,782 companies in the sector had registered in Nanxiang, earning the town tax revenue of 580 million yuan (US$86.1 million) from the game industry last year.
One of the companies is Lianliankan Technology Startup Incubator, which was registered in Nanxiang a month ago. The company registered both its research and development center and incubator in Nanxiang as it plans to build its own game industrial park in the town.
To bolster the gaming industry, the Nanxiang town government has made great efforts in the past five years.
The Shanghai Game Industry Incubator housed 300 companies by the end of 2015, including about 80 entrepreneurial teams. A tailored incubation program is provided to each company/team based on its situation. Qualified and potential game companies also have the priority of receiving government support.
By now, companies under incubation have received venture capital totaling 50 million yuan while 25 companies have completed the incubation program.
Nanxiang has successfully held a series of industrial forums and conferences, establishing a platform both for communication and cooperation.
Nanxiang also offers a wide range of support policies to startups, along with full support to assist companies to go public, and it’s planning an industrial park for the sector, the first of its kind in the city.
