F1开幕式用精武功夫展现上海城市精神   2015-04-13

The 2015 F1 Chinese Grand Prix will be held between April 10 and 12 at Shanghai Audi International Circuit. The Chinese Grand Prix has been held annually for 11 times since its debut in 2004. It has become the largest single-game sports event in China, attracting an audience of several hundred thousand from all over the world. To enrich viewing experience, the organizer has prepared some new highlights this year.

Jingwu Kung Fu performance at the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony prior to the race lasts only 15 minutes but it is an important cultural showroom for the world. Every year Shanghai presents a cultural relic at the ceremony and Jingwu Kung Fu, a national intangible cultural heritage from Hongkou District, becomes this year's pick.

The performance has four sections. Firstly, 120 elementary school students will present the theme “Kung Fu youth blooms in the world of martial arts.” Secondly, 100 people of all ages, including coaches of Jingwu Kung Fu Center, will perform Tai Chi with the theme of “the treasure of Tai Chi, the harmony of China.” The third part will be presented by 80 hip-hop dancers, and all the 300 performers will take stage at the fourth sector to present the theme of “The voice of Jingwu, I love Shanghai.” The whole performance will be concluded with the century-old anthem of Jingwu Kung Fu.

Juss Event, the F1 Chinese Grand Prix organizer, said the significance of Jingwu Kung Fu lies not only in its strong visual effects but also its reflection of the spirit and culture of Shanghai. Jingwu values patriotism, self-cultivation, righteousness, and the willingness to help others. This meets with the Shanghai sprit of “pursuit of excellence.” The fact that Jingwu was founded regardless of schools reflects the Shanghai spirit of inclusiveness.

In addition, this year's F1 Chinese Grand Prix race features a national anthem section for the first time before the race starts. The original starting ceremony was simple until last year's Russia Grand Prix that created the national anthem section. All F1 staff and drivers should present and salute to the national flag in a solemn atmosphere.

F1 officials like the format and add the procedure before each starting. The Chinese Grand Prix will thus hold its first national anthem section ahead of the race.
