Huntsman, a leading United States chemical products manufacturer, has decided to register its textile effects business, one of its four business segments, at the Xin Development Industrial Park in Waigaoqiao.
With a registered capital of US$60 million, the firm's textile effects business is engaged in providing dyes, chemicals and digital inks to the textile industry. The business segment has operations around more than 90 countries.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Waigaoqiao remains a hot destination for investment. Before signing with Huntsman, Waigaoqiao drew investment from many multinational enterprises.
Agilent Technologies Inc, an American analytical instrumentation development and manufacturing firm, expanded investment in Waigaoqiao, aiming to realize localized production of new high-end instruments.
Carl Zeiss AG, a German manufacturer of optical systems and optoelectronics, set up its regional investment headquarters in Waigaoqiao.
Lumenis, a leading aesthetic medicine company, and Boston Scientific Corp, an American manufacturer of medical devices, also registered in the area.
Even amid the lockdown, the investment promotion team of the industrial park utilized various methods, including video, telephone, WeChat and e-mail, to keep contact with enterprises and learn about their demand.
