哪吒汽车将 阿布扎比设立为第一个海外R&D中心 2023-10-19

Hozon New Energy Automobile's Neta Auto, the bestselling brand among Chinese electric vehicle startups last year, will open its first research and development center abroad and an assembly plant in the United Arab Emirates.
The facilities will be located in Abu Dhabi’s new Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industry cluster, becoming Neta's hub for the Middle East and North Africa, the Shanghai-based carmaker announced on Wednesday.
Last year, Hozon sold more cars than other Chinese electric vehicle startup such as Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng Motors at 152,000 Neta-branded cars. But from January to July, deliveries dropped by 6 percent to 72,500 units, according to public data. Founded in 2014, the startup only sells Neta-branded models such as Neta Aya, Neta U, and Neta V and is building its first overseas plant in Thailand.
The hub in Abu Dhabi's Masdar City will house Neta's third global R&D center after such projects in Shanghai and Hong Kong. It will engage in regional back-office functions such as sales, marketing, importing, and exporting, as well as aftermarket services.
Neta will be able to test its latest technologies in designated zones on Yas Island, one of the largest tourism projects in Abu Dhabi. The island offers a road mobility test bed with a growing number of technology startups.
The SAVI cluster, led by the Abu Dhabi Department for Economic Development and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, has advanced facilities and services to design, test, and produce self-driving vehicles, per the same source.
