The Shanghai Legoland Resort officially announced its pricing system with six tiers for admission tickets on Wednesday ahead of its opening this summer.
Adult tickets will range from 319 yuan ($43.8) during the low season to 599 yuan on special peak days, while children's tickets are set at approximately 80 percent of adult rates, ranging from 255 yuan to 479 yuan. The resort will offer special rates for seniors and people with disabilities.
The resort's official website indicates the pricing structure is designed to manage visitor flows across different seasons while ensuring optimal family experience and safety.
"The pricing strategy aligns with international theme park standards, considering factors such as brand value, location advantage, and operational requirements," said Lin Huanjie, director of the Institute for Theme Park Studies in China. "Given the brand influence and location of Shanghai Legoland Resort, the pricing is reasonable".
"Higher peak-season prices primarily serve to regulate visitor flow, and account for increased staffing and maintenance needs during holidays," he added.
Construction progress at the 318,000-square-meter resort in Shanghai's Jinshan district continues on schedule, with 80 percent of rides and attractions installed and undergoing final testing by March.
The park features eight themed lands, including Lego Monkie Kid inspired by the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, Lego Creative World, Brick Street, Bricktopia, Lego City, Lego Friends, Lego Ninjago and Lego Castle, catering to families with children aged two to 12.
While single-day ticket prices are now available on the resort's official website, the specific on-sale date, sales channels, and opening date are yet to be announced.
