This year’s CIIE opened on Wednesday and runs through Monday. China’s latest achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) have been featured at the pavilion, a major attraction at the expo.

With a total of 570 exhibits, the China Pavilion at the Country Exhibition of the ongoing 8th China International Import Expo in Shanghai is fully showcasing the nation's latest achievements and practices in its high-quality development and modernization.

Featuring innovation, diversity and interactivity, the pavilion highlights China's remarkable advancements, breakthroughs and achievements in economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.

The exhibits span multiple sectors, including economy, science and technology, culture, as well as people's livelihoods. They include C919 aircraft models, CR450 high-speed train models, the International Lunar Research Station model, lunar soil samples from Chang'e 5 and Chang'e 6 missions, humanoid robots, as well as digital e-commerce platforms.

Among them is the eye-catching Yangwang U9, a high-performance electric vehicle from Chinese automaker BYD, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.36 seconds.

"We have seen our overseas sales grow dramatically this year, and many foreigners from across the world are visiting us at the CIIE," said Wang Yu from Yangwang's marketing department.

The model of a train designed and manufactured by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co also drew large crowds. As China's first electric multiple unit train exported to Europe, it complies with the European Union's Technical Specifications for Interoperability, as well as with the different national regulations of Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. With a top speed of 200 km/hr, it boasts increased transport capacity, high speed, safety, reliability, punctuality and passenger comfort.

Chinese tech giant ZTE showcased a business model of space-air-ground integration, spotlighting low Earth orbit satellite networks to lead the development of 6G technology, where the integration of space and terrestrial networks is a defining feature.

Zhao Xin, senior solution architect of Wireless and Computing Product at ZTE, said: "The ultimate goal of building the satellite networks is to realize ubiquitous intelligence connection, which means people can get connected at any place. It's the future direction and also the vision of 6G."

Technological innovations introduced exciting new lifestyle experiences. With artificial intelligence and digital olfactory technologies, Scentrealm's Scent TV can receive scent signals from videos or livestreams in real time, and restore and release the corresponding scents accurately to offer immersive experiences.

Ma Liangting, a trade delegation visitor at the expo, said: "I used to think that scents we smell could never be shared, but now I know I was wrong. It is such a surprise."

This year's CIIE features 67 nations and international organizations in its Country Exhibition, with six guest of honor countries — Thailand, Sweden, Nigeria, Colombia, the United Arab Emirates and Georgia.

Davit Kapanadze, chief manager of Enterprise Georgia, said: "We see the China Pavilion getting more and more impressive every year, and the technological innovation exhibits there are always the most interesting."
