上海市外商投资企业青年才俊协会着眼于深化合作,促进外商直接投资增长   2026-01-26

 

The Shanghai Foreign Invested Enterprise Youth Talent Association convened its second membership meeting at the Shanghai CPPCC Auditorium on January 24. The event brought together over 200 representatives from foreign enterprises.

Over the past two years, the association has organized various events, including talent exchange forums and executive dialogues with foreign-invested enterprises. In 2024, the association co-hosted the first High-Level Talent Exchange Conference, which attracted over 600 companies and more than 2,500 talents. This initiative has contributed significantly to Shanghai’s development of world-class industrial clusters in artificial intelligence, biopharmaceuticals, and other cutting-edge fields. That same year, the association also co-hosted the Human Capital Forum, facilitating in-depth. discussions on intelligent collaboration, large-scale models, and artificial intelligence.

The association has established a blended online-and-offline training mechanism, leveraging an online business school system and practical human resources projects to cultivate talents skilled in both market operations and management.

Li Shusheng, Vice President of Air Products China, expressed confidence that the association will continue to build cross-industry and interdisciplinary platforms for professional learning and experience sharing. He suggested organizing workshops or mentorship programs focused on digital transformation, green and low-carbon initiatives, leadership development to help young professionals expand their capabilities and achieve sustainable career growth.

In addition, the association has created special interest groups such as running clubs and water sports clubs, organizing over a hundred foreign enterprise executives to participate in events like the "CIIC Cup" Fitness Competition for World-Renowned Enterprises in China, marathons, sharing sessions, paddleboarding, cycling, and dragon boat races.

During the meeting, the association signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Shanghai Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Hong Kong-Shanghai Youth Association, pledging to enhance collaboration in talent development, regional coordination, resource sharing, and youth exchanges.

Founded in January 2018, the Shanghai Foreign Invested Enterprise Youth Talent Association is the first social organization in Shanghai and nationwide dedicated to young talents in foreign enterprises. It currently has 391 members representing nearly 107 Fortune Global 500 companies.

To date, Shanghai has attracted more than $370 billion in foreign investment and is home to nearly 80,000 foreign-funded enterprises. These companies generate over a quarter of the city's GDP and about one-third of its tax revenue. From January to September in 2025, Shanghai added 4,764 foreign-invested enterprises, an increase of 5.5 percent year-on-year. Foreign direct investment reached $12.06 billion.
