SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met a delegation from the Office of the United States Trade Representative on Wednesday. The delegation came for the 8th round of the China-US Insurance Talks.

Yang said the municipal government is pushing for more reforms and opening in Shanghai Free Trade Zone and is offering foreign investors the same treatment as Chinese companies by adopting the negative list. The city has taken a series of measures to facilitate foreign investment and trade and is carrying out financial opening and innovation.

He said that with the support of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, the city's insurance sector has developed well, attracting many insurance institutions from home and abroad. The city also founded the Shanghai Insurance Exchange.
