何凤山 罗生特雕塑揭幕 2016-09-02
Austrian Consul General Silvia Neureiter (left), and Guan Weiyong, chairman of the CPPCC Hongkou District Committee, unveil a statue of Jacob Rosenfeld (1903-1952) at the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum yesterday. Rosenfeld was an Austrian doctor who fled to Shanghai to escape the Holocaust in 1939 and joined the Chinese people in their fight against Japanese aggression in 1941. In the following years he served as a field doctor for the New Fourth Army, the Eighth Route Army and the People's Liberation Army. Rosenfeld left China after the war in 1949. The museum also unveiled a statue of Dr Ho Fengshan, a wartime Chinese diplomat in Vienna who risked his life when he issued visas to more than 3,000 Jews.
