应勇会见巴西里约热内卢市长 签署意向书深化各领域合作交流 2017-11-14
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met his Rio de Janeiro counterpart Marcelo Crivella and his delegation, and signed a letter of intent on last Friday.
Ying said China and Brazil are two biggest developing countries in the world and their cooperation in economy, finance, and cultural industries have been ever deepening since the two established diplomatic relations. Ying told Crivella that Shanghai is working hard to turn itself into a global center of economy, finance, trade, and shipping, as well as a technology and innovation hub by 2020.
Rio de Janeiro has been active in building its infrastructures, and Shanghai will support its companies to take part in Rio de Janeiro’s urban development, Ying added. He hoped the two cities can use this opportunity to deepen the cooperation and exchanges in trade, technology, culture, and tourism.
