The Pudong International Airport's new satellite terminal building, scheduled to open in September, has received China's top steel structure award for its intricate and innovative design.
The world’s largest satellite terminal building, known as S1 and S2, is connected with terminals 1 and 2 by an underground shuttle and will provide faster transfers and better punctuality, Shanghai Airport Authority said on Wednesday.
Upon completion, Pudong airport will be able to handle 80 million passengers annually, 6 million more than last year.
