Choppers to remain grounded 2015-05-07
THE city’s transportation authority will solicit public opinion before it allows sightseeing helicopters back into the skies after the service was suspended following complaints about noise just a day after it was launched.
A new set of regulations will be issued to govern low-altitude flying that was previously not regulated, the Shanghai Transport Commission said yesterday.
Before the service gets the approval from an assessment team formed by the air traffic controllers, public safety, environmental protection and tourism authorities, the choppers will not be allowed back into business.
