Number of jobless falls by 13,700 2015-07-20
THE number of unemployed people in Shanghai fell by just 13,700 in the 12 months through June, despite the creation of 341,800 new jobs in the first half of this year, officials said yesterday.
About 222,500 people living in the city are currently without work, the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said.
Of the jobs created in the January to June period, 18 percent were filled by migrant workers, while 22 percent were taken by graduates, it said.
