App developers target transport 2015-08-18
APP developers are being invited to use their skills to improve the management of the city’s public transport.
The Shanghai Commission of Economy and Information Technology yesterday launched the Shanghai Open Data Apps (SODA) contest, which is open to both companies and individuals.
For the first time ever, the government will make available real time data about the city’s public transport — from taxi and bus movements, to occupancy rates and conditions at parking facilities, it said.
