SHANGHAI will be the second most popular tourist destination after Beijing during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, according to a report by AutoNavi, one of China’s biggest digital map and navigation service provider.

The report was based on historical data and analysis of traffic condition of popular cities around the country. Chengdu in Sichuan Province, Zhejiang’s Hangzhou, Jiangsu’s Suzhou and Shaanxi’s Xi’an came in third, fourth, fifth, sixth respectively.

In Shanghai, the Bund, People’s Square and Pudong’s Binjiang and Century parks will be the most congested spots during the holiday that starts from the end of the month. Qibao Old Town in Minhang District, Happy Valley in Songjiang and Zhujiajiao Old Town in Qingpu will be the top three most visited places in suburban Shanghai, followed by Happy Valley, Gucun Park and Shanghai Wild Animal Park.
